Five on Friday

I'm going to try to link up with Five on Friday but I'm not too good with the blogging stuff!

1.  I start my "New Year, New You" challenge on Monday.  I'm excited but nervous!  I can handle the exercise part but it's the eating I don't get.  I'm not good with carbs and I drink too much sonic dr pepper.  I'm not going for weight loss...I just want to tone and get a little healthier in my choices of food & drink.  I'll continue my Jillian DVDs and T25.  You need to check out these sisters.  They are super helpful and fun to follow.

2.  My boys have been home since December 21st with us for break.  Yesterday I got them to go to school so they'd have a day to adjust back to routine before go time Monday.  Well this morning Landon said he wanted to go today.  SAY WHAT???  I honestly tried to get him to stay home but he won.  So this momma has had two days all to herself.  I honestly miss them and feel pretty guilty for being home and them at school...but they need that social interaction and I think they were needing a break for me! I did use my time wisely by meal planning & grocery list making.
And a little SOA!

3.  Landon got a new two wheel scooter from my parents.  At first he was having some major wipeouts, but he finally got it figured out.  And he even taught Bennett how to use his three wheel scooter.

4.  I'm trying to tame my shopping but I couldn't pass up the sales going on right now.  I got Landon 3 shirts, a pair of jeans, and myself a pair of yoga capris all for under $15 from Old Navy!  I was happy about that the most!  And it's still 15% off all clearance so you could probably find some good deals.

5.  I've been searching for easy meals on blogs and on Pinterest.  I found a soup from the Pioneer Woman that I'm definitely going to try soon!  Maybe I should buy her cookbooks?!?

Enjoy your weekend.  I am going to relax on my last days of break.  Monday is back to the busy world of Kindergarten....unless we get snow?!?

13 From 2013

Our New Years Eve is never wild but it's exactly how we want it.  We spent the evening at home like normal.  The kids don't get the whole ball dropping and staying up to midnight (glad they don't).  I'm sure once they get bigger they'll want to try to stay up so I'm taking advantage of the normal bedtime routine while I can.

But I want to recap some things from 2013 in no particular order!

1.  We celebrated Bennett's 1st birthday in February.
2.  We sold our house in June and moved in with my wonderful MIL at Viola.  We had no idea it would be a 4 month stay.
3.  We finally bought our perfect house in October and moved in on Halloween.
4.  We celebrated this boys 5th birthday which is crazy to even say!
5.  Landon had his first year of t-ball and even though it was kind of rough of us in the beginning we finally got to the point of enjoying it.  Momma just had to hide so he wouldn't cry for me.  Big 5 so no more crying right?!?

6.  I was introduced to this group...Boyce Avenue...and I love them.
7.  I got hooked on SOA.
8.  Lance and I celebrated our 7th anniversary.
9.  I turned the big 3-0!!!
10.  Bennett got his first haircut.  Doesn't he look happy?
11.  Landon went to VBS at our church.
12.  We celebrated Christmas in the new house!

13.  We had a fun snow that kept us in the house for an entire week...which was fine by me!
It's been a fun year!  The house situation threw us for a loop but everything worked out for the better!  We are finally settled and we are really enjoying it here.  The boys are growing fast and I can't wait for 2014.  I can't believe I'll have a kid in Kindergarten and only 1 kid in daycare...WAHOO!!
And I won a spot in the "New Year, New You" challenge group.

It starts Monday so I hope to make better food choices and stay up on exercise.  Lance got me T25 for a Christmas and I am liking it so far.  I mean sure it's hard but it's only 25 minutes so I can deal.  Plus I have to admit...I honestly enjoy working out.  I'm weird I know!  I started it on a random day but decided to start on their schedule which is a Monday-so I started over!  I'll keep updates to help me hold accountable to it!

Birthday Boy!

On December 29th we celebrated this boy turning the big 5!!!  I can't believe he's 5 and he'll be going to Kindergarten next year.  It makes me feel old to have a school age kid.  He is loved so much and has such a tender heart!  And just for my own record he weighs around 47 pds, he is wearing a XS in boys clothes, size 13 shoe, and is 45" tall.
I am blessed to call these three boys mine.
Landon's best friend Luke also celebrated his big 5 on this day so we of course had to include him in the party.  His mom got the boys a new scooter (and funny because my mom also got Landon a new scooter) so we got their picture with those.
Here they are at church a couple weeks ago.
We did a Cardinal birthday and since his day fell on a Sunday I decided to just make cupcakes.  I tried to make them look like baseballs.  Nothing too fancy but he was happy and that's what I was going for!

I let Landon open gifts first so that way the kids could just play and not have to be stopped later.  I have to admit...having more space in this house is wonderful!  The kids played downstairs and it was nice not to be right on top of each other.  Love that!
Sweet Evan sitting on his mommas lap!

Birthday boys blowing out their candles.
After the party I made Landon get a picture with me.  He didn't want to put his iPad down, but I reminded him I brought him into this world and he better smile!
I wore my Shay inspired shirt.  It is super soft and im definitely glad I purchased it.
Landon got a gun from us and the next day he was ready to go shoot it!
Aunt Lisa got him a new football uniform which he loved.
We had a really good day and I'm so thankful for my boys!

Let It Snow!

And boy did it come down!  We've had two snow days now and I'm honestly not sure when we'll be going back to school.  The week started out with normal temps of about 70*...ha...and then Thursday we were getting sleet.  I think all schools called off that morning which was a good decision.  Me and the boys got up & out for breakfast, a sonic drink, and a quick stop at my parents.  By the time we got onto our road at 8:45 it was sleeting.  And that's what it did most of the day.  On Friday we woke up to lots of snow on top of the sleet and it snowed hard all day.  It was so pretty!  Lance went in to work so me and the little guys decided to make it a fun snow day!  We played outside, ate snow, baked/decorated cookies, took naps, burnt a pot of beans, and went back out once Lance got home.

We bundled up like Randy from Christmas Story!
Both boys loved being outside in the snow.  They made Angela, ate snow, and threw a few snow balls.

Look at Landon?  Ha!

After playing we headed in and ate lunch then napped.  Both boys fell asleep Landon going outfirst and Bennett took a long time.  And that was why I burned my pot of beans.  I'm not used to my gas stove and things cook way too fast.  Darn!!!

We decorated cookies after they got up and they were so good!  I bet they'll be gone by tonight.
Once Lance got home we were ready to go back out.  We still have our sled in storage so we used our trash can lid to go sledding.  It worked great and was a lot of fun!

Lance and I tried getting our picture together but Bennett wanted in!  On Monday Lance and I celebrate our 7th year of marriage.  We might be snowed in still but we'd probably be home anyway.
We filled the deer buckets up when we were out and then when we got inside our friends came to visit.

And here is a picture of our house with all the snow.  I'd says this is a pretty good snow to be our first in the new house.

Yesterday Bennett woke up super early so he napped around 10:30-1:15.  Lance and Landon played outside and even got the 4-wheeler going.
I kept Bennett inside since he had a runny nose/cough going.  He didn't like that idea but he got over it.  The boys have been playing hard and I'm thankful for our play area.  They can get out all the toys they want. We just have to pick everything up right before bed.
Our deer came back again.

On Sunday we had another lazy day.  Bennett had a rough night and has had fever all day.  He's slept pretty much all day.  Landon and I watched some recorded Christmas movies, played downstairs, and of course snacked!  Today we are home again!  Bennett is still sick so I'd say it's just fine to be home for a snow day.

It is also me and the hubs 7th anniversary.  I am very blessed to do life with the man God planned for my life.  He's a special one for sure and I love him more each day.
Look at how young (and blonde) we look!!
