The Boys

Well I'm loving maternity leave.  It's nice getting to be home every day with my boys and I love not having to get ready.  I had a few pictures on my phone that I thought I'd share.

Look at Bennett's pouty lip :)
Here is the silly Landon with his new Cars cup
My sister took a picture of Bennett after our morning walk.
And look who's smiling now?  A week or so ago Bennett started smiling at us and I love it!
Landon was getting B to smile or was he bothering him???  Not sure :)
Those eyes just light up when he smiles.

Trying to get him to smile.
And here he stuck his tongue out at me :)
He's a chubby boy.

So my hubs decided to do a garden this year.  It's a pretty big garden.  I told him I probably won't be much help in the garden area (I'm sure that didn't surprise him) but I think he and Landon can handle it.
He has squash, tomatoes, potatoes, jalapenos, and other good stuff that I can't wait to eat.
The counselor at my school loves frogs and so at my shower she had gotten Bennett lots of frog clothes.  So I put him in one of her cute outfits Sunday for church and I sent the picture to Sharla.
This morning my sister called to see if I wanted to go with her and the boys to the park.  Of course we were all in.  I told her we needed to go try out the Bull Shoals park.  It takes about 15 minutes to get over there (just because you have to go slow in Bull Shoals otherwise you'll get pulled over) and I thought Christian wasn't going to make it.  He kept on asking "are we there yet?"  When we got there the boys jumped out and started playing.  My sister was a nervous wreck.  She typically is (love you sis) but she had all the right to be today.  This playground was pretty big boy size.  Things were high and the slides were pretty much straight down.  We had to really team up to help keep the boys safe.  She was up in the playground stuff making sure they didn't fall off and I was on the ground watching B or holding him and making sure the kids stayed in the play area.  I'm glad we tried out this park and we'll definitely go back.  I'll just make sure I have someone with me to help keep everyone safe. :)

My sweet Landon enjoying the park with his cousins.
Here is Mitchum (Landon and Mitchum were dressed like twins - green shirt and brown shorts).  He was the one we really had to watch because we didn't want him to get hurt.  He gave me and his mommy a workout.
Big boy Christian.  He wasn't scared of anything and had lots of fun!

Today Lance if fishing in a big tournament on Bull Shoals.  He said him and his partner were boat #218 and he wasn't sure how many others were after them.  I sent him a text earlier and told him that as soon as he gets home I'm off to go get a pedicure and manicure.  I love my boys but I need some "me" time.  Lately our nap time hasn't been working out and I'm tired.  I seem to get one boy down and then the other wakes up.  It kills me!  So I need a moment and I think that is ok to say.  Hopefully he'll be home in time for that to happen.

Two Months

Baby Bennett was 2 months old on Friday. He is such a laid back, happy baby and we love him so much. And to celebrate his 2 month birthday he decided to sleep all night. He has been sleeping really good the last week or so but Thursday night was the first time to sleep all night. He typically goes to sleep around 9 or 10 PM and goes until 3 AM. He eats and we change him and then he's right back to sleep till 8 or 9 AM. It just depends on what we have going on and if it is one of Landon's school days.
So here are a few things about Bennett.

1. He is wearing size 2 diapers.
2. He wears mostly 3-6 month clothes (I've already packed away all newborn and most of the 0-3
month stuff).
3. He had a time with spitting up a few weeks ago and my doctor suggested switching to the AR
formula (rice already added) and that has helped a lot.
4. He weighs 15 1/2 pounds
5. The chunky baby loves to eat. He usually goes about 2 hours and sometimes we'll make it to 3
during the day. But I won't complain...too much...because I'd rather he do it during the day than
at night.
6. And maybe we are bad but we even add cereal to every bottle we give him. And he still only
goes 2 hours. When can this boy eat real food?
7. He has been smiling at us and it is the cutest thing. His eyes are just beautiful when he
smiles...they just light up.
8. He doesn't always enjoy the carseat. I try to time it just right so we have a happy baby and a
quiet car ride.
9. He had his first babysitter. My cousin Haley watched both boys when I went to a baby
shower and Lance hunted.
10. He went to the park for the first time just this week (we actually went 3 times this week).

Enjoying the Park

For the past 2 days I have taken the boys to the park. I'm sure Landon gets bored being home stuck inside and plus I know I better take advantage of these "not so hot" days. I have a feeling our summer will be miserably hot! We only stayed for about an hour because B was getting a bit fussy and we were getting hot. Today we went this morning and it was tons better than going in the afternoon like we did yesterday. I took a couple pictures yesterday of the boys. Love them!

Baby Madden

Last Saturday I went to my friend Lori's baby shower.  Their family is welcoming baby Madden in just a few weeks.  I can't wait for him to be here and for Bennett to meet his new buddy.

Here is Lori with her mom Cathy and her sweet daughter Mackenzie.

Gwen and I took pictures of ourselves.  We were laughing because we felt silly, but we don't have any pictures of ourselves and I wanted one.

And since Lance was hunting at the same time as the shower, we had to get the kids a babysitter.  This might sound crazy, but this is the first time we've ever had a babysitter (one that we've actually paid).  I texted my cousin to see if she was coming home for the weekend and she said she was.  So Haley was hired.  :)  Landon loves her and she is wonderful with kids.  I asked her if she was nervous watching a 6 week old baby...and she wasn't.  Maybe I was the one nervous.  I guess it is just a mom thing and letting others watch my kids is hard for me.  But I asked her if she'd be willing to watch them when she gets home from college and she was all for it.  Maybe Lance and I will actually get to go on dates.  I'm excited!

Thanks Haley!  We love you and appreciate you taking time to watch our kiddos.

Our Week

We've had a pretty lazy, but good week.  My sister and I started walking at the park together.  One day we had to take both boys so I pushed Landon in the stroller and Brooke carried Bennett in the carrier.  I am fixing to order my double stroller so hopefully that will make things easier.  And I told Brooke I felt bad that she's having to help with my kiddos since they have to go with us and here she has three kids who never get to go.  I promise we'll fix that.
And a girl at Brooke's school told her about these free workout apps.  So I downloaded them the other day to try them out...and I have to admit...I'm liking them.  I'm actually pretty sore right now which is a good thing.  You can do 5 minutes, 7.5 minutes, or 10 minutes.  Perfect for a momma who doesn't have a lot of time.
Here are a few pictures of the boys.  Look at all these rolls on our 6 week old boy!
Last night both boys needed a bath so I decided to put them in there together.  This is silly but it makes it all real seeing them both in the tub that I have two kiddos now.  B seems to like the bath.  More so than Landon ever did.  We still have hair washing issues.  I think we protected those sweet ears for too long (but you would have too if your child had so many ear infections as L).
Love how B is looking at his big brother.
Well it looks as if nap time is over for B so I guess it's time to eat and then head to get Landon.  I always miss Landon when he's at school but today I am so tired and I needed a little nap time myself.  Last night was my night with Bennett and he didn't sleep much.  I think once I woke up at 11:45 PM I never went back to sleep for longer than an hour.  It was rough!

Easter 2012

Our Easter started Saturday when we went over to Nana's house at Viola.  We had BBQ for lunch with Judy, Sharmin and her kiddos.  As soon as lunch was over we let Logan & Landon hunt eggs.  This was Landon's first hunt...and he seemed to like it.
And their off...

We had to help Landon find most but he was able to spot some of them on his own.

Austin helping Landon reach an egg.
Checking out his prizes and eating chocolate.

My sweet boy.
I just love him so much :)
And I love this boy too!  He looks really big here and so cute!
Nana made Lilly and Jed a bunny cake since their birthday is coming up.  Austin gave her a hard time because if you notice...the whiskers are at the bunnies mouth...ha!  Poor Nana!

Sunday we attended church and this was Bennett's first trip to church.  As soon as we got there he started fussing in his car seat so I got him out.  And as I was getting him out I smelled something.  Awesome!!!  So I went out and changed him real fast.  He then fell asleep during music.  Landon wanted me to hold him so Bennett got passed around between Nana and Lance.  When Lance had him Bennett decided to have another poo diaper.  So I went back out to change him and decided to go ahead and feed him.  He only ate a couple ounces so we went back in to the service.  The preacher was doing the Lord's Supper and he just said "they ate together" and as soon as he said that Bennett let out a pretty loud burp.  It was great timing :)  After church Landon wanted to go to Pizza Hut so the 4 of us went there for lunch.  As soon as we got home I told Lance we had to get some family pictures.  We set up the camera and tried our best.

Love my sweet family of all boys :)
What a wonderful Easter.  I just love Easter...we are celebrating our risen Lord...we are blessed!
