Landon's 1st Interview

I saw this interview on a blog I read so I decided to do it on Landon.

What is your name?  Landon Newton

How old are you?  2 and a 1/2 he says!

What's your favorite color?  red

Who is your best friend?  Mommy and Daddy and Luke

What is your favorite animal?  forcey aka horsey

What do you want to be when you grow up?  doctor (go right ahead)

What is your favorite movie?  Ratatouille

What is your favorite book?  Love you Forever by Robert Munsch

What makes you happy?  smile (hard to get him to understand - he kept telling me sad)

What makes you sad?  when mommy leaves me at school I cry (again hard b/c he kept saying happy -
guess he knows opposites & by the way...he only cries for about two seconds to torture me and
         then he is fine)

What is your favorite food to eat?  chicken

What is your favorite song to sing?  monkey song aka jumping on the bed

What games do you like to play?  games on your phone (and he knows how to do it all by himself)

Hopefully I'll remember to do it later when he gets bigger.

This week Landon has been going to school so I could work in my classroom.  He did three days this week and I got a lot done.  Sunday evening Lance and Judy went with me to rearrange furniture so on Monday I was ready to unpack and set up stuff.  After today I can actually say my room is ready for the kiddos.  I brought stuff home to work on over the weekend but really I just have the lesson planning to do and to get everything ready for orientation.

Right now I have 15 kiddos but I know I will get more.  Last year we had 21 kids until they hired another teacher and it got us down to 20 kids.  It's crazy because at my old school there were only 4 classrooms and we had about 16 kiddos with 18 being a big class.  Here at MH there are 18 teachers and we usually have 20 kids.  But I love it and it's neat to be teaching at the same building I attended Kindergarten.

I would also like to ask those who read my blog to pray for the Sherry family.  I taught with Gianna at Flippin and her family is super close to my sisters family.  On Sunday she had to have an emergency C-Section and their baby was born without brain activity.  Garret went home to heaven yesterday.  My heart breaks for them.

Summer is fading fast...

I have been boring lately.  Landon and I are spending a lot of time at home.  Lance is still busy working with dealer meeting-all of that is over after tomorrow night-and I'm sure we are all happy about that.  I'm very thankful for his job/career but it's hard b/c his busy time is when we are home in the summer.

Speaking of summer...I can't believe it's almost over. :(  I have two days of training this week and then I think the following week we can get back in our classrooms.  Now I wish I was one of those teachers who didn't rush back but I do.  I love to organize at the beginning of the year and have everything ready for the 1st day of school.  Plus I think my open house/orientation is the second week of August so it has to be ready by then.  I've been reading the posts at http://staffordmoments.blogspot.com from working moms.  I love hearing how others make things work for them and how they manage everything.  I am definitely going to have more routines and Lance & I are going to have to really work as a team...which I know we can.  I know it will make our lives so much easier and maybe we'll get to spend more time together just the two of us.  All relationships need that time and when you have kids it quickly fades.  Not a good thing I know.  Once I figure out our new routines I'll post about them.  Oh and I hope to get a house cleaner to come every two weeks.  I think that would be so helpful.  We'll see what happens.

One thing I've already started to help us is to do meal planning.  I haven't had to since we went on vacation and now with Lance working every evening with dealer meeting but it's starting back this week.  I went to walmart today and I'm ready for some home-cooked family meals!

Birthday Party

Last night Landon and I went to my nephews 4th birthday party.
He loves dinosaurs so that was the theme.  The kiddos were excited to eat cake but we got them to eat supper before ruining the cake.

Landon had a great time!  My parents got Christian a new four-wheeler so all the kids went outside to ride around the yard, they swam in the pool & played on the swing set.

Lincoln drove Landon around and it was so cute.

Look at Landon!  When Lincoln would start to go Landon would fling back.  It was pretty funny!
Love my blue-eyed baby!

Home Sweet Home

We left Gulf Shores at 6:31 AM and we got back to my parents house in MH at 5:20 PM so we did really good time.  Landon did really good and we were talking about how we never had to stop for him.  We did stop twice and once for food and every time it was us having to pull over.  He's such a good boy!  Before we left Gulf Shores I got Landon three new videos and a Vreader.  He loved the videos and that is what he did most of the ride.  He did sleep for two hours which was good.  When we got about an hour away from MH he got a little restless so I got the Vreader out.  He loves that thing!

It was great seeing this. :)
He didn't want me to take his picture.
We got home and we immediately started unpacking everything.  We decided to get Sonic for supper since we don't have a lot of groceries at the house and b/c we were lazy.  I'm glad to be home but I did have a great time and can't wait till next summer.
Today we are back to normal routine....vacation is over!  Lance went back to work and he is going to be super busy b/c of dealer meeting.
Today is my sweet nephew Christian's birthday.  He is the big 4 and we are going to his birthday party later tonight.

4th of July - Last day of Gulf Shores

Today was our last day at Gulf Shores.  We are heading back tomorrow morning so we are going to soak up as much sun and beach time as we can.  We headed down to the beach after breakfast and played till lunch.  Landon, me & my mom went up to the room for lunch while Lance stayed down at the beach.  I think I've created another beach boy!  My mom went back down to the beach while I got Landon to take a nap.  After he woke up we decided to stay in the room b/c our family was going to have a cookout & we were going to take some family pictures.  So I started getting ready and then everyone came up to our room to eat supper.  We had lots of good food and it was nice to visit.  My cousin Haley took some pictures for us at the beach.

After pictures we got everything packed and loaded in the car.  Then we waited for the firework show which was at 9:00 PM.  We watched them on the beach & Landon did great.  He really didn't watch them he was more into playing and making people tell him stories.  :)  The rest of us watched the fireworks and they were awesome.  Nothing better than watching them on the beach.

Gulf Shores Day 5

Today I slept till 6:45 so it was a little better.  I got up and made cinnamon rolls for all of us and once the boys got up we enjoyed them!  Lance went down to the beach to set things up and we followed a little behind him.  My uncle Farron was already down there so he played in the sand with Landon and then we all played in the water.  Eventually everyone else made it down to the beach.  It is my uncle Farron, Angie, Haley & Nick, Uncle Keith and Sandy, my cousin Jared, Angela and their two girls, and my cousin Justin, Jennifer and their two girls.  We definitely have a big group and we are taking up a lot of beach space.

My cousin Nick - Landon had so much fun with him and wouldn't leave his side.
My mom and my Aunt Sandy
Just a small part of our set up
Here is our set up and it included three canopies, three umbrellas and about ten chairs.
I am glad they are here because we have more entertainment now.  We have been playing in the waves in our tubes, building sand castles, swimming in the pool, and snacking on the beach.  We actually made it till 12:00 PM and we were out there by 9:00 AM.  But at noon Landon said he wanted to go eat so we all headed up to the room to eat.  I then took him out on the balcony to bounce in the chairs and within 15 minutes he was asleep.  He took a good nap...the whole bunch wore him out this morning.  We went back out after he woke up and stayed till 5:00 PM.  Landon spent a lot of time out in the ocean with us.  They were playing a game in the water so he tried to play too.  We are so surprised at how he did with the water.  Even at the outside shower he was wanting to play under it.  He never likes his face to get wet but this vacation might have helped him...WAHOO!!!  We stayed at the room for dinner to try to eat up some of our food since we leave soon.

Gulf Shores Day 4 (tons of pictures so be ready)

This morning it wasn't Landon waking up at 6:30...it was me!  I guess I can't sleep when it is bright outside.  Landon woke up about 10 minutes after I got up so I went in to get him and we went out on the balcony.  We watched the birds flying by and we colored.  Lance came out shortly after and joined us.  As we were sitting there Lance noticed the dolphins so I tried to get a picture of them.
We ate breakfast and enjoyed the balcony more.  We went to the beach and tried to collect seashells but Landon kept throwing them back into the ocean.
So sweet!

I love my little beach baby.

Throwing the seashells back in the water.

 Footprints of my boys :)
We also tried to get some beach pictures.

Landon found a bit puddle so he had fun with that for awhile.

We got in the waves for a little bit but Landon got drenched by one so he was done....he was ready for the pool after that.  We played for about an hour there and he did a lot of jumping in.  We went back up to the room to eat lunch before the Dailey's got here.  Chris went to school with Lance and Melissa and I became good friends at the boys class reunion a couple years ago.  They live an hour away and we try to see them when we are here and when they go to Viola we meet them over there.  The boys went golfing and so Melissa and Madelyn hung out with me, Landon & my mom on the beach.  Madelyn is about 6 months older than Landon and they had so much fun.  We started at the beach and we played in the water and then played in the sandbox. :)  I notice a big difference when Landon has a little buddy to play with in the sand...he stays longer.  After getting all sandy we went to the pool.  The kids had fun jumping in and swimming around.  Madelyn is a brave girl in the water.  She kept telling her mom to let go of her but Melissa wouldn't.  Landon was getting so tired but just never gave in.  Melissa and I took the kids up to the room around 1:30 to try to rest.  Lets just say the kids didn't fall asleep till 5:30 PM.  The kids were funny to watch.  They would pretend to drive places.  They'd get in the chair, buckle up and drive to church/hospital/Disney world.  They also would act like babies and lay down & cover each other up.  The boys finished golfing at 4:15 PM and we decided to call in an order to Sea-N-Suds...yummy!  They were going to go pick it up but the traffic here is horrible so Melissa, Madelyn and I decided to go get it.  (That is when the kids fell asleep.)  We got back and ate while the kids slept and the boys got home two hours later.  I asked Lance how long it took him to get there this afternoon and he said 20-25 minutes.  And it took them two hours to get home....crazy!  When they got here they ate and then we made them get the kiddos up.  We visited for a little bit and then they headed home.

As we were on the balcony taking pictures I saw my cousins and told them to come to our room until they got their key to their room.  They came and hung out for a little bit.
I know it is going to be a fun next couple of days with everyone here.  I've been talking to my uncle on the phone and they are trying to get here but traffic is horrible.  They said from the tunnel to Gulf Shores usually takes one hour but it has taken them six hours today.  I would be so frustrated.  I actually just got a text and they are here.  They left at 3:00 AM and it is now 9:00 PM.  Hate that for them.  We are going to go see them real fast and then head to bed.
