Best Buddies

Oh the time has come....mommy is not all that cool.  Landon loves being outside with his daddy -working and riding the toys.  He actually told me to go inside at one point :(.  I should be a little happy because I actually have a moment to myself (cleaning, laundry or getting on the treadmill) but it is a little sad too.  I guess I'll have to learn to like being outside and being in the sun.

It was so sweet.  He kept his arm around Lance the entire time!

Today we went to church and little man didn't do as good as he usually does. He usually sits with us during service but today I had to get up a total of three times.  The first time we went out and had a serious talk and we even walked to the nursery.  He chose to go back to church with me.  Well he didn't last long so the second time we went to nursery and he actually started to play.  I decided to try to go back to church since he was playing and seemed fine.  Well no more than ten minutes later I asked Lance if he thought that was Landon crying?  We could hear someone crying for his mommy and of course it was him!  Andrea was bringing him back to me but I got up before she was there.  Now the nursery from where we sit is pretty far.  This kid is a baby!  After his moment he was very needy of me (yes he wanted me) so after lunch I took a nap with my little guy.

It was a really beautiful day so after Landon woke up from his nap I took him outside and he stayed outside for about two hours.  He rode his John Deere Gator, played with his toy truck and then Lance got the mower out...Landon was so happy!  He loves riding on Lance's lap and just driving around the yard.  They even changed the oil and cleaned it up a bit.

Next week at school we are celebrating Dr. Seuss' Birthday so we have a theme for each day.  Tomorrow is wear mixed up clothing.  I think it is going to take me longer to pick out clothes for that than it would for a regular day.

Catching Up

My sister told me I was slacking with my blog so I thought I'd try to catch up today.  I am actually home on a sick day.  I'm wondering if I have a bit of a bug.  I have had at least three kids out from my class the last few days and yesterday I actually caught a kids throw up in the garbage can...yuck!  That's the joys of teaching!  So hopefully soon I'll start to feel better.  I do have an appointment with my regular doctor next week (it was to go over all of those test results-which I already know everything was fine in those) and I think I'll go ahead a just go.  See what he thinks.  I have people say it's probably acid reflux or maybe an ulcer.  I don't know but I am trying to just drink lots of water (never been good at that but I am right now) and I am taking a few things I got at Nature's Way.  It's worth a try right?!?

Lance was gone all this week to TN for work and then he went to Indiana for a funeral.  He got home last night and we waited up for him since I knew I wasn't going to work in the morning.  Landon was so excited to see him (so was I) and Lance couldn't even leave the room without Landon.  He loves his daddy!

Last weekend we had my nephews 1st birthday party.  I think it bothers my sister b/c this is her last 1st birthday to plan.  I told her she could help plan for my future kiddos...ha!  It was a fun Mickey themed birthday party and it was fun to visit with everyone.

 Here is the birthday boy!
I'm not sure if he got to open any of his gifts.  I think all the other kiddos took care of that...ha!
Landon found balloons so he's happy.
We got Mitchum a Mickey Mouse and I guess I should have gotten Landon one.
Doesn't Christian and Landon look a lot alike?
Oh my child is in LOVE!  He found a guitar :)
This kid loves music just like his daddy.

He even gets the leg up and everything.  He's a hoot!
 Cake time!

I would say he destroyed his cake!
 Love those messy hands.

Luckily Brooke's school has a shower so he got all cleaned up...which he didn't like too much.

After the party we went over to see Brooke and Bradford's new house.  I say new house - they remodeled and added on but they did a lot of changes - and it looks great.  Then we went over to our other friends to see the house they are building and it was again fabulous.  I told Lance I wanted to built or change stuff in my house.  I actually am very blessed with the house we have but I'll be thrilled the day we can build our house...long time from now!

Now for some random pictures from my phone....

The other morning Lance told me to go see Landon.  This is how he was sleeping!  He cracks me up.

Here are Landon and Luke at church last Sunday.  Gwen and I did nursery so we let these two boys stay with us.  They decided to lay down under the crib area.  They are funny!

Well I am going to continue to be lazy today with my sweet boy.  He usually makes me forget I'm sick...ha!  Plus I am going to hunt on the Internet for beach condos in GULF SHORES, ALABAMA.  We used to always goes there as kids and we have continued going but not as regular.  I am making it a point to take Landon this summer.  My uncle called me last night and said him and his family are going the 4th of July week and so is my other uncle with his family.  So I'm going to try to get all of us to go the same time.  I am already excited!

Happy Love Day!!!

Well I went out and bought some Bare Escentual make-up this weekend.  I got it at a local store and it is 20% off this month so I was pretty excited about that.  I got the fair starter kit (because I'm super white) and I had my MIL pick up a blush today.  My SIL uses this make-up and she let me try her True blush on Sunday.  I really liked it and Judy said she'd stop for me and bring it by my work.  She's pretty good to me :)  I think I'm going to like this stuff!  So after reading the beauty tips from Kelly's blog and after going in to Simply Beautiful I have learned that I need and that I want a Clarisonic brush.

I am asking for one for my birthday but if I can't wait till then I might use my tutoring money for it!  I am not patient when it comes to things I want.  That is one thing I need to work on.

So this weekend Gwen and I had a day out together.  We went to Simply Beautiful for make-up, Wal-Mart to get groceries and to register her for baby Evan and our last stop was at El Charro!  We love eating there and it was really good.  When we were eating I told Gwen that I felt so full and that if I took another bite I might explode.  Yes, this is when it started.  My legs were achy all day and I just didn't feel the best.  They came over that evening so the boys could work in the shop and the boys got to play & decorate cookies.
 Don't those look yummy!

Landon was a little messy from his cookie :)
Nice!!!

So my belly started hurting pretty bad Sunday evening.  I was telling Lance & Judy about it and I started thinking it might be my gallbladder.  I have had a history with this stuff for about 3-4 years but this pain was a way more intense.  I was having indigestion, my pain was in my upper part of my abdomen and it was going through my back, I felt nauseous and just wanted to go to sleep.  Of course Landon didn't sleep well but we did make it.  I really wanted to avoid a trip to the ER and just wait till the morning to call the doctor.  I called as soon as I could and they couldn't get me in till 3:20 with a different doctor.  I made it through school and through our Valentine's party but I was definitely dragging all day.  The doctor was very nice and told me it did sound like my gallbladder but when he was pushing on my belly and listening he said he discovered my abdominal aorta was wider than others.  I guess most peoples are about 2 fingers wide where mine is 3.  OK???  So he said we'd do a CT of my abdomen to try to figure out what it is and get blood work done.  So tomorrow after school I'll head to the hospital for my scan and not sure if I'll get answers tomorrow but at least I'll get some soon. Mom is going to watch Landon for us and Lance will go with me.  Oh the doctor also gave me some medicine for the indigestion.  I'm hoping we all sleep well tonight and I feel better in the morning.  So what a Valentine's right?!?  At least I am home with my boys.

Beauty Tips...

I am trying to participate in the Show Us Your Life over at http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/.  I'm not sure I am doing it correctly but I'm trying!  I'm new to this blogging thing.

Now I am definitely not one to fuss about looks.  I am most comfortable in comfy pants and a t-shirt but I thought I'd share some of my favorite things.
I have naturally curly hair and the only thing I use in it is this.  Loreal Pumping Curls.  It never makes my hair feel sticky or look crunchy!  I think you can still get it at Wal-Mart.

On the days I straighten my hair I use Bed Head Superstar Shampoo & Conditioner.  I think it is good at not making my hair look greasy.

For my face I recently switched from Arbonne to Clinique.  I never had issues with breakouts so I was lucky there. I switched to Clinique just because I like how I can run and get stuff I need when I need it.  But after reading some of these links I am really thinking about going back to Arbonne.  It was always a good product but yes it is pricey.
I never wear a liquid foundation because I don't feel I need something heavy.  I like the mineral powders and right now I am using Clinique Mineral Powder.  I am very white (I had skin cancer and I am pretty frightened of the sun still) so I'm sure my color is called ghost 3N.

I still use the Arbonne Bronzer Powder.

I love the Revlon Shine City lip gloss - I don't like color for some reason so this is what I always wear.

I wear Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara.

My favorite eyeshadow on me is MAC Illusionary Burning Ambition.  I feel like it makes my eyes pop!

I have always wore acrylic nails (Since my senior year 01' right after cheerleading was over-so for a long time) but I love to have them painted to change things up.  I tend to do reds but my favorite color is Dutch Tulips by OPI.  I love how it pulls a red and a pink.

I have always loved perfume but I have to be careful because some smells give me headaches.  I love these right now.

Well I am going to keep reading other links and get more ideas.  I am ready to go shopping after looking at the ones so far.  Lance is going to get me :)

He's Fallen and He Can't Get Up....

Landon and I went decided to go out in the snow and even though it was a short trip...it was pretty funny!   The poor guy could barely get around.  He would fall down or make snow angels and he couldn't get back up so this mommy had to rescue him.
Here is the happy boy who was ready to go play!
He decided to crawl around in the snow.

I think he is telling me to put the camera down and to come play!

He was trying to get to his dad's shop which is where his John Deere Gator is or his "tractor" as he calls it.
But he went down on the way....
And fell face first into the cold snow!  He was actually laughing here but it quickly turned to a cry :)  He was ready to go in after this which was fine by me!

Final Snow of the Year...

I was really happy to have a snow day today.  Landon didn't sleep well Monday night so on Tuesday I was very tired.  I took half a day from school so I could take Landon to the ENT and after his appointment (which was way past his normal nap time) he fell asleep right when we pulled out of the parking lot and by the time we got to the house and back to the bed he was wide awake :(  That goofy kid!  Last night I had my hair appointment and I left the house at 5:15 and by 5:30 that boy was asleep on his daddy's lap.  He slept till 7:00 and I was home at 7:15....boo!  I was worried about how he'd sleep last night but he was back to sleep at 9:30 and slept till 8:00 this morning.  Right now he's napping and I'm catching up on my DVR'd shows.  I recently got in to Glee so I'm watching that as I type.
So as I said earlier we had to go back to the ENT because Landon has had an ear infection for a couple of weeks.  We are on our second round of antibiotics.  Yesterday Dr.Barker said he had no infection (YEAH) and they even tested his hearing to help me feel better and that was perfect.  I took him in to the room to get his hearing tested and they make you go into this sound proof area for the second part of the test.  He sat on my lap and there was a little dog in front of us, speakers on both sides with these boxes above the speakers.  The man's voice comes out of one of the speakers which when he did Landon would look that way and that box above it would light up.  In the box was a little stuffed animal playing a drum or something.  I honestly can't even remember because I was laughing.  Landon would get startled by it and that would make me giggle more.  The man doing the test was probably annoyed with me but I honestly couldn't help it.  Luckily I didn't ruin his results :)   We went back in with the doctor after the test and he said the left tube is out and the right one is probably going to fall out soon.  We go back in 3 months and he said hopefully we won't have to worry about water after that.  Yeah right...I'll always worry about water now.  I have for the last two years but that's OK.
Well with all this snow Landon and I have been getting a lot of days home together.  Last week when Lance was home we all went out to play for a bit.  Landon seemed to like the snow and the kid would not leave his gloves on.
All bundled up and just getting out there.

Ignore the nappy hair and no make-up and just look at the cute boy :)
 Looking at their snow angels.
He loves his da-da (he has been saying that lately for some reason).

 He is the sweetest boy!
Sunday we went to church and then we came home for lunch and Landon took a quick nap.  We went over to the Daffrons house for Super Bowl.  It was fun and the kiddos got to play together.  I feel bad saying this but it is so hard going to other people's houses and keeping Landon  entertained.  He is a good kid but I just can't rest and I think that is why I enjoy staying home.  I wasn't always this way but kids change some things for you...all for the better though!
Before we left I made us take a few pictures because we never remember to take them when we are out.
My sweet boys that have my heart!
I love this little guy so much!
Here are some pictures from my phone and I will try to put some more up after Landon and I go outside.  I was going to wait till it stopped snowing but I'm not sure that is going to happen.  Right now it looks beautiful outside.  The snowflakes are fluffy and calling our name :)
 Being silly for the camera!
The other day we bought Landon some big boy underoos because he was wanting to use his potty.  Lance put them on him the other night and I had to get some pictures of that.  They make him look so big :)
 Look at that belly!

We finally celebrated 100 days in Kindergarten (never thought it would happen with all of the snow) on Monday.  The deep south hallway did rotations so the kiddos went to six classes and did different activities.  In my class they worked 100 piece puzzles and by the end we had all of them together except one.
This is my new lunch box :)  I ordered it from ThirtyOne!  Maybe we'll be going to school one day and I can actually use it!
Enjoy the snow because I am saying that this is our final snow for this Winter.  It's a big one isn't it???  I see Spring in our near future.
